This is the first note, and a quick record of what is now working on the new site.

  • Created a Zola site in cvoell-zola/
  • Added the tabi theme
  • Set up separate posts and notes sections
  • Published a first post
  • Added photos to the first post as a Zola page bundle
  • Stripped photo metadata before publishing
  • Added GitHub and email contact links
  • Deployed the static site to a vm provider server
  • Pointed cvoell.com and www.cvoell.com to vm server
  • Set up HTTPS with Certbot
  • Set up Proton Mail and email address cameron@cvoell.com
  • Added a simple deploy script

Still to do: add a real lab experiment, write a fuller about page, and decide whether this site eventually needs email subscription support.
